A History of Person-Centered Services
Vantage Group, Inc. was founded in 1982 by parents, educators and social service professionals who believed that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities had the right to live and be active members in their community of choice.
For over 35 years, Vantage has provided comprehensive person-centered based on the needs, wants, desires, and dreams of those served. We remain committed to creating opportunities for the social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities that live in New Haven County.
Person- Centered: We place those we support at the center of our work, focusing on supporting them in achieving their goals, seeking their opportunities, following their direction, and cultivating their independence.
Respect: We treat everyone professionally, fairly, equitably, and with dignity.
Empathy: We care about those whom we support and carry out our work with compassion and empathy for all.
Aspirational: We set high expectations for what is possible for those we support. We challenge ourselves and those with whom we work to set our goals high and consistently strive toward meeting them.
Collaborative: We strive to build trusting, supportive relationships with individuals, families, community partners, and each other.
